I've just dug out my notes, and seen that the failure in firefox was on LFS-7.2 (apparently 7.1 was ok) and I did build system icu there (yes, slow) because my system version was too old. Apparently, mozilla-firefox has a copy of icu4c which it builds as a static lib, at least that is what I found in ff-29. On firefox we do *Recommend* ICU, so I guess we should too on seamonkey. ĸen -- Nanny Ogg usually went to bed early. After all, she was an old lady.
