The changes are going in after I finish this reply. No changes to glamor, but I've moved the conf file to the xorg.conf.d/ directory installed by the server, and removed the lines for module loading. At this point I will add a caution to anybody who was using a switch to specify where the modules should go (I think it was --with-xorg-moduledir= or else something very like that) : I only recently stopped using that for new systems, but retained it for updates on systems where the non-standard directory still existed. I guess that I picked it from BLFS many years ago, and never changed to avoid breakage. With 1.17.0 that switch is no longer recognised, so the drivers (evdev, ati in this case) need to be in hte standard location. Also, the 7.5,0 ati driver might be important - in earlier testing with 1.16.3 I had tried glamor with no benefit, not realising I was still on the 7.4.0 driver. For oldish systems moving to 1.17.0, xtrans needs to be the current version for this server, and libdrm needs to be the current version for the ati driver. ĸen -- Nanny Ogg usually went to bed early.
