Yes, gucharmap is optional in Mint Mate, but mate-character-map is not in the repository. However, it installs without any other dependency: gucharmap (1:3.10.1-0ubuntu2) libgucharmap-2-90-7 (1:3.10.1-0ubuntu2) That is one option I was thinking: DE from mate, mixed with some applications from gnome, if we want it and there is not an equivalent in Mate. > As to file managers in general, I find them much harder than using a > term. Me too. Only when a browser is not configured or something like that, I am surprised by a file manager or an archive manager, such as file roller (Gnome) or engrampa (Mate), suddenly appearing. Bad news is that Mate has also converted to systemd religion [1], so I cannot be sure if the experiment will be successful. -- []s, Fernando [1] http://wiki.mate-desktop.org/systemd-logind -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
