I'm slowly bringing up a current desktop system on my intel i3. I built Xorg with the latest versions of everything, but startx did not work. The log showed a segfault in X, consistently.
After renaming intel_drv.so so that it could not be found, I got a running Xorg : it is now using the modesetting driver from xorg-server. Looking at what has changed since BLFS-7.7, either libdrm-2.4.61 or gcc5 are the prime suspects. So, has anybody got the intel driver working with gcc 5 ? If so, which version of libdrm, please ? I'll start googling later, after I've built firefox. I mention libdrm because 2.4.60 (I think) was being blamed for troubles on the nouveau list. ĸen -- Nanny Ogg usually went to bed early.
