If anybody is interested, there is a new release (20150601) of my
test files for TeX - but I have renamed them to latex-test- because
it became clear to me that TeX itself is not tested.

These started out as a way for me to be reasonably sure that the
texlive we build from source is complete - particularly after
someone pointed out that we still had the binary versions of asy,
biber and xindy in our otherwise from-source build. They might be
useful as examples (mostly, bad examples, but working ;) of how to
do things.

These work on the last 2014 x86_64 binary, and also on the 2015-pre
x86_64 binary, as well as on LFS-7.7 from source. Well, apart from
the biber-2.0 part - I'll move on to fixing up the git version and
upgrading asymptote this week. The changes for perl-5.22 (looks as
if Build.pm has dropped out, as expected) will have to wait for
somebody with a system using 5.22 [ probably me, I suppose ].

Mentioning biber leads me to mention what has changed. Some of the
Makefile target names have changed, to better reflect what they are
doing, and I have added new tests to run biblatex-biber with
old-style (non-UTF-8) input, such as {\AE} for the AE digraph (Æ)
because it became apparent that people were doing that and it is
broken with biber-2.0.

I've also added biblatex with the bibtex backend, because one of the
bug reports mentioned that that combination worked. These have all
been fixed upstream, and biber now includes regression tests for
these problems.

But that is not how people used to use bibtex, so I have added a
plain latex test using bibtex, and then I took the opportunity to
put an index into it with makeindex (and rather wished I hadn't).

There are also two tests using TikZ : blended circles (a picture)
and a mosfet circuit-diagram.

The configure script has been severely revised - now I check that
all the latex packages which might be used in these tests are
present, then I work out which tests can actually run. The script
is still messy in places, but better than it was.

There are a total of 16 tests (requires a full 2014 or later texlive
 - the TikZ 'blend' function was new in 2014). A couple of the tests
will output some minimal text in korean (along with other languages)
if they find a suitable TTF/OTF font : texlive does not ship
any korean TTF/OTF fonts, but other TTF/OTF fonts including Chinese
and Japanese are part of a full TL install - in some cases, I prefer
extra fonts and will use those in preference if they are found. But
all the font choices can be overridden as in the previous versions.

Cosmetically, the ABOUT documentation now has a nice triskel on its
cover, plus I learned how to get all paragraphs not indented and I
added documentation for which programs (mostly, from TL) are exec'd,
and which (latex) packages are used.

The current ABOUT.pdf and latest-test-20150601.tar.xz are now at
