Just a progress note. I think this will take me a day to adjust things.

But from glibc in chapter 6 the last line of the Next link is still
feint - I have '>', 'Next' in green, 'Adjusting the' lighter than I
would like but not a problem for the link, 'Toolchain' feint and it
would be hard to read if I didn't know what it said.
I've been playing with the css and the html, specifically
http://anduin.linuxfromscratch.org/~bdubbs/lfs-book-test/chapter05/binutils-pass1.html
As you can see, I've been adding some borders around blocks so I can see
what is happening.
One thing that is happening is that there is both a navheader and
navfooter. The css is currently trying to display both in the same
place. I think I can change the footer to display:none and then just
work with the header. Then the .xsl does not need to be changed -- only
the single .css file.
I can live with this in LFS but for BLFS I would prefer the links to
be bolder if they split lines. I also wonder how *long* Prev/Next
BLFS links such as 'reiserfsprogs-3.6.24', or 'About Logical Volume
Management (LVM)' will be handled ?
The reason for the faint last line(s) is a combination of the browser
and the fact that the padding at the bottom was zero. Adding some
padding makes the full line correct and allowing the box to expand more
should give the full text of the next/previous sections.
Also (for BLFS), some of our initial paragraphs might make the
(narrow) box containing the introductory comments for a package
rather long. Finally, when the links are all on the left I have a
similar amount of empty space on the right.
I should be able to restrict all links to the left side. That should
fix the width problem. Even in the current scheme, we get horizontal
scrolling if the browser is too narrow. We also get an overflow of
instructions out of the gray boxes before the scrolling starts. I don't
think there is anything we can do about that.
In any case, if you are interested, you can follow along at the above
link to see what I'm doing. There may be some periods of inactivity as
I will not be working on this continuously.
I'll post again when I think we're ready for another review.
