Too wide? The width is up to the user : my system, my choice of
font, font size, and graphical browser window size.

sarcasm: Perhaps I should go back to a 640x480 display so that my
lines are not "too wide".

I've come back to the second machine (to try the 4.2-rc6 kernel).
For the window width I was last using, with Proportional set to
Serif, Serif specifying Linux Libertine G, Sans Serif specifying
Liberation Sans, and Monospace specifying monospace : things are ok
up to 16pt (for proportional and monospace). Assuming that the
indentations on the commands are 4 spaces, I'm getting a total of 75
character cells in the command lines.

Not sure if the proportional 'Sans Serif' implies DejaVu or Linux
Libertine G, nor if 'monospace' implies DejaVu Mono. But in any
case the main text appears to be Sans so that will be Liberation
Sans.

If I change to 18pt, the install command from intltool gets a
scroller.

I still think the horizontal scrollbars are *stupid* when the books
are supposed to provide text that people can read (they also have
the implication that if you copy and ppaste when you cannot see the
whole text, you might not get all of it : been there pasting from a
different site using a similar arrangement.

This is now probably usable - for me - for LFS. The 100ex limit
seems to be working in e.g. the introduction to findutils, but for
BLFS I will reserve judgement.
