I'm in favour of adding more details to help people get things
working well.  But the only DE I use to any extent is xfce - beyond
adding a few plugins and sometimes adding a fifth desktop I don't
think there is much that I alter.

Occasionally, people have added a few things to our wiki - but
generally the configuration details which get recorded are only what
an editor thought was important at the time.

If users want to press for more details in any page, that would be
good - mostly it's hard to get our users to say anything unless they
have a problem.
