I have added a new entity, &gcc7_checked; to the book. Right now I only updated openssl but I have a little under 300 pages in the book that I have built with gcc7.

There is no particular hurry to add the new &gcc7_checked; to the book. Just add it for now when a new package is updated and using the gcc compiler.

One issue I found with gcc7 is that it seems to be much slower than gcc6 when building packages. My -j1 time for binutils has gone from 107 seconds to 140 seconds, about a 30% increase. If others have a different result, I would like to hear about it.

There are only a few packages that I've built so far that run into problems, although the noise from warnings while building has increased substantially. For example -Wexpansion-to-defined and -Wimplicit-fallthrough. There was at least one package, nss, where I had to disable -Werror to get it to build.

If users other than editors are building using gcc7, please let us know here about any issues or problems that occur for you.
