There is a xine-ui-0.99.11 release, but it is unbuildable due to a call to a
non-existent function. Reviewing upstream, the activity seems very low.
The mailing lists for this package on sourceforge are less than informative.
I don't think any devs read them.
I'm subscribed to xine-devel.
FWIW, I reported your findings to that list and got a reply:

| xine_list_next_value () was added in the current develpment branch of
| xine-lib, which is not released yet.
there is no indication there about development vs stable versions.
I'll go ahead and update currency to use https://www.xine-project.org/home,
but I note that is has been a long time (2017-12-28) since the last release.
I think that's how things always used to be : nowadays, don't we
usually complain about _too_frequent_ releases ? ;-)
I do. But generally it's when there are more than one release in a
month. Another complaint is when upstream does not identify release vs
development. Occasionally gnome has been known to release a 'stable'
release that requires a 'development' library.
