I know that I'm rather late on this, but I would like to suggest keeping
sawfish in the book.
I was looking upstream and noticed that there have been several commits
recently here:
https://github.com/SawfishWM/sawfish
It seems that they are working on porting to GTK3 as well.
I do use Sawfish from time to time, and it is a nice window manager. It
does have some odd quirks though. You have to use the middle mouse
button to bring up the menu - and I only have one mouse that seems to
respond to pressing the middle button.
