Done.  Used lsdvd on a music DVD to look for a likely "title" (one
with several chapters and audio streams, then ripped to filename.vob
using e.g.
 transcode -i /dev/dvd -T 1,18-19
and then played the vob file in xine.

Everything from transcode *except* tccat is uninteresting.
