Now built and tested with gcc and 1.42.0, plus my full CFLAGS : to
my surprise, it took a lot longer than with clang, on an 8-core
machine 41.9 SBU instead of 39.2 SBU, and /usr/lib/thunderbird used
186 MB instead of 179 MB. On a 4-core machine without my own CFLAGS
the measurements will undoubtedly be different.

Ooh goody, a new gcc minor version to break a few things, and then I
expect new glibc will break a few more ;-)
Yeah, testing things takes a long time, particularly when I mistake
what caused breakage.
I was hoping to get a new build started soon (particularly to review
the things where things on my last LFS build maybe differed), but my
BLFS scripts are still a couple of weeks out of date. Meanwhile,
I'm updating desktops to what I think will be firefox-78.1.0esr
(currently candidate build 1).
But we'll get there, and maybe gain a little knowledge along the
way.
