I'm curious why LXDE is built against GTK+-2 instead of 3. The only mention of GTK+-3 for LXDE is in the lxsession page, which is wrong. libunique is listed as required. It isn't needed at all and I believe can be removed from the book.
By building the other LXDE packages against GTK3 other packages can also be removed: vte-0.28.2, keybinder-0.3.1, and libwnck-2.30.7. The updated versions of those (already in the book) will be used instead. Having said that, there was an issue I had in lxpanel but is fixed with a patch posted to a bug report for lxpanel which can be found here: https://sourceforge.net/p/lxde/bugs/773/
