Is this possible once I have built everything with the 2.6.8.1 kernel?
My expierences over the past year hasn't been very favorable. The 2.6
branch is in constant flux and is beaking alot of drivers that I still
have need for. I downgraded flex to 2.5.4a to get rid of the lex error
on modutils-2.4.27.. Installed modutils only moved most of the
binaries to a .old extension as I've seen other distro's do.... I
still get "FATAL: kernel too old" messages when I ty to boot
2.4.30....

I was hoping that the newer module-init-tools was hardcoded to look
for and use .old binaries if it encountered a 2.4 kernel. This doesn't
seem to be the case. That or there are othe things one must do that
I'm not aware of. Based on pure speculation, I'm thinking that 2.4
kernel headers with a recompiled glibc against them might help
matters. I'm just guessing tho...

Any help in this matter would be greatly apprecieated.... Thanks.
