yes, fglrx_6_8_0-8.12.10-1.i386.rpm is for Xorg or (untested) XFree86
4.5 only. Go to www.ati.com and download the driver for XFree86 4.4,
but I can't be sure that the patches work against it. Better switch to
Xorg. Also, have you installed gcc-3.3.x in order to have libstdc++.so.5?
In the ATI-page there does at this time not exist a driver for 4.4, the
last one is 4.3.
lfs-6.0 uses gcc-3.4.1
libstdc++.so.5 is a link to libstdc++.so.5.0.6
Is it possible to change in an working environment XFree by XOrg ? Is
there a hint anywhere?
As for the build failure in /usr/src, I cannot diagnose it now because
I don't know how you installed Qt. In fact, this step is optional, you
will be missing only some not frequently needed programs like
fireglcontrol.
I compiled Qt-3.3.3 and installed it in /opt following the Blfs book, In
adition I included the option for mysql.
