I fail to see Why? If moz is broken then it should be fixed. > Instead you should put those options in > a custom .mozconfig in a separate build directory, > run ../mozilla/configure && make, This is (read: should be) no different so far. > and follow the above-linked directions > to run the browser-only install. Okay, the question remains, using the same build directory and 'make install' does it work, if not, why? > I followed Andrew's advice (which > should be a hint document!) and added only a symbolic link > from /usr/lib/firefox/firefox to /usr/bin. No. It's covered in the book, but the book is broken and needs to be fixed. Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad that it works like it should now, but moz-dev needs to figure out why. I remain fairly sure they'd appreciate a patch to fix it if somebody can figure it out. > > Firefox 1.04 now launches in a new window as part of an existing > instance rather than pop up the profile manager dialogue. > > Thanks again, Andrew. > Rock on! -- DJ Lucas -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
