My Hp ScanJet 5370c still does not work with SANE. I updated the stable
release of SANE with the latest AVISION build and no joy.
Soooo, I tried VueScan, which works on the Mandrake side of my box.
However, when I ran it in BLFS I received the error:
./vuescan: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I received the following reply from Vuescan support:
"Vuescan will not run without libstcd++.so.5"
I do not want to build 'gcc-3.2.x' just to get my scanner to work--not
to mention any problems it may create. Can I just "steal"
libstcd++.so.5 from the Mandrake side of my box and put it in /usr/lib?
I tried 'ln -s libstcd++.so.6 libstcd++.so.5' but it did not work.
Thanks,
Dan
