I always ensure that the ALSA 'aplay' command will play a .wav file and that the speaker-test command works as expected. ALSA libs and utils is always one of the first things I install, and I check it out using those tools. Once that works, I've never had issues with sound using any other tool. What happens when you use the speaker-test program as the root user? -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 19:04:01 up 134 days, 18:37, 3 users, load average: 2.13, 1.63, 1.03 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
