I was going to be a hero and jump in here because when I built GTK/Gnome from the SVN book last week, I made detailed notes about dependencies. I had comments all over the place about dependencies which are listed as optional but are required for other packages, etc. So I started to reply to your message here... And can't find my notes. It was just a little ASCII file I was writing to with vi from one of the root consoles, but I can't remember the name and it's not in /root where I would have expected it to be. All that effort, my big contribution to blfs, and I can't find the stupid thing! Sigh... can we roll last week back and start it all over again? I specifically remember some trouble I had getting yelp to build, and notes I made on what it took to make it work. -- Peter B.
