Hi,

If you have kdegraphics installed, you already have an ocr program,
namely kooka. I have never tested it because my scanner does not
work with sane.

If kooka is not your choice maybe one of these:

Kooka doesn't come with an OCR program. It merely uses "ocrad" - 
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/ocrad - if it's installed.
