I followed exactly the instructions in the book, applying all the other
patches without any other changes.
The only thing I can remember is that doing this:
for JAR in ../jdk-1_5_0_05*.jar
do java -jar ${JAR}
done
I had to start the X server, but no other problems.
Huh. I thought I had done that. Oh well, I'll try again. Thanks for
