No Progress to Report: As you note, the BLFS BOOK 6.1 has xIncludes
and not all at the root/index level, either. Unfortunately, the XML
parsers for Python don't seem to expand xIncludes by default. I am
investigating *libxml2* from Gnome, which has Python bindings and some
documentation but not a lot of examples. It doesn't expand the
xIncludes (either) the way I am using it, but it is supposed to able
to somehow. My experiments are ongoing. Using *libxml2* would
introduce yet another prerequisite to the BLFS Dependencies Hint, but
that would be a small price to pay for being able to do away with the
*sax* patch.
