gobject-2.0 and gthread-2.0 are part of glib-2.0. Perhaps you installed
glib-2.0 and ORBit-2.0 in some prefix that isn't in your
PKG_CONFIG_PATH? Where did you install them? What is your PKG_CONFIG_PATH?
