It is not *required*. It is optional, and you only need it if you wish to build the libgs.so library (which is used by only a couple of packages). > BTW, an aside to that > is I already have gtk+-2.8.7 I think it is which was compiled for > something else. At least one reason I need to go back to 1.2.10 is that > it contains gtk-config which is also required by EPSGS. You don't have to "go back". You can install both of them in parallel without any worries. They exist perfectly fine together, and don't have any conflicts. > Can I just > install the gtk-config No. > Anyway back to my current dilemma. In the configure script for > gtk+-1.2.10 there is a section which is failing: I wish I could help you further, but the rest of your issues have to do with building on the 64bit platform. I do know that I've seen a patch for GTK-1.2.10 floating around the CLFS list. You'll probably need it. However, perhaps you can reconsider even your need for gtk-1.2.10. -- Randy rmlscsi: [bogomips 1003.25] [GNU ld version 2.16.1] [gcc (GCC) 4.0.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.6] [Linux 2.6.14.3 i686] 17:41:00 up 8:46, 1 user, load average: 0.01, 0.02, 0.00 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
