On another note, nobody answered my question about the net-tools gcc34.patch. Do I want to apply it when I'm using gcc-4.1.1? The reason
Yeah. The idea was that since the error began occurring with gcc-3.4.x, it should reference that. It's necessary for that version and any newer one, though, since gcc gets stricter syntax with each version.
this is coming up again is I tried to apply the headers-3 patch and it wouldn't apply because (I think) the headers-2 patch had already been applied. I'm blowing the directory away and re-applying all the patches I need. I'm thinking I don't want headers-2 but I'm still wondering about the gcc.34 patch. On the other hand I'm almost sure I can apply the -3 patch now if I knew which switches to use/not use. The man page was a bit confusing to me. Could I do something like "patch -p1 -i patch-file" and get the -3 to apply over the -2 patch?
The -2 and -3 headers patches are almost identical. Start with a fresh diretory and then patch with the -3 version rather than the -2 version in addition to other patches/modifications. -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
