BLFS doesn't include any way to rotate the system logs in /var/log (unless I've missed something). Any recommended methods?
Logrotate seems to be popular with the distros. I can't find the source anywhere. Here's what debian and redhat are using (different versions): http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/l/logrotate/ http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/repo/dist/logrotate/logrotate-3.7.4.tar.gz/dcf518fe08ae3825e00b38b909d152d9/logrotate-3.7.4.tar.gz I think if you hunkered down, you could right a pretty simple script and cron job. I've been meaning to do this myself for a while. Here's a shell implementation: http://iain.cx/src/logrotate/ -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
