Thank you Allesandro for your suggestions.
I installed Timidity at first. It worked.
I am able to play midi files both in timidity and in audacious, through
the timidity plugin.
Recompiling the plugins (ver 1.2.5) was not necessary.
However it turned out that I can specify only one mid file at once.
My adudacious gets SIGSEGV when I try to add more. It might be a bug in
audacious or in a plugin (?)
So I decided to compile fluidsynth. Then the recompilation of plugins
was necessary.
At the configure stage of the audacious-plugins-1.25 it turned me off
the timidity plugin,
because it found fluidsynth.
So I turned it on, but it seems not to be in use. The Fluidsynth is used.
Allesandro, you told you use timidity to play midi. How do you use it?
You know, I am not a kind of midi geek, but I would like to have full
sound functionality in my system and I am trying to find a proper player.
Regards,
Juras
