Hi

Just got to gnome-vfs-2.18.1 but it can't find it's dependencies although they
all are installed correctly, to my knowledge. By googling I found a suggestion
that such error was related to popt but I looked and I do have those libraries
in /usr/lib/. All the path variables are set and I've run ldconfig. So I'm
stuck Any ideas? It also occurred to me that maybe I should match the
libraries prefix to the gnome prefix? I reasoned that should any application
require them other than gnome and I happen to delete gnome they'll still be
available, thus they are installed with the prefix=/usr as stated in the book.
But as all paths are stated either in the path variable or as gnome variables,
it should not make any difference?

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBGNOMEVFS_CFLAGS
and LIBGNOMEVFS_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

End of error:

What have I missed?

Thanks
