Hi folks,

I built my very first LFS following the latest stable LFS-6.4 book.
Correspondingly I installed Shadow-4.1.2.1 version.

Now I've started working with BLFS book and it contains instructions for
re-installing (after PAM installation) only for Shadow-4.0.18.1 (the SVN
book version as well).

The instructions are obsolete for my version, and if I try to follow them
I'm rightfully having an error about files libshadow.*a and libshadow.so
missing.

The BLFS book makes and "Important" note:"The installation shown below is
for a situation where Linux-PAM has been installed (with or without a
CrackLib installation) and Shadow is being reinstalled to support the
Linux-PAM installation."

The above sounds like the instructions are specific for RE-INSTALLATION
process of Shadow. Therefore I'm a puzzled - can I reinstall my Shadow
just using instructions from LFS book or not?

And then, what about Shadow configuration instructions in BLFS book
following re-installation? Are they still valid for my newer Shadow
version or they are obsolete as well?

Any input would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.
