Yes it works as root onto a DVD that is not a RW media. That was some of my confusion as I was trying to use a RW disc and cdrecord 2.01 doesn't do DVD RW media. Cdrecord pops an error message, amongst other errors/warnings telling you that you need to contact the author to get the pro version. Under K3b, k3b just error-ed out and reported that the burn had failed, only by running cdrecord from the cli and your help was I able to see that cdrecord barfed on DVD RW media. I compiled cdrkit which works without error, I am in the process of removing cdrecord now. Now if I can just get USB thumb drives to automount in KDE3 I will just about be done with this project. I can mount a USB thumb drive as a user if I use pmount but KDE doesn't pop a window asking what you want to do with it like it does when I insert a dvd. Now if I could just get that working. My many thanks to all that have helped me. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
