There is, but they are temporally stopping development of it:

Also, like Andrew pointed out, some packages need -fPIC set in CFLAGS
to compile properly. An example would be a52dec, and probably also
libmng. Oh, and doesn't NWS use Java for it's radar rendering? I think
it does, so there is almost no reason to build multilib.
