I have no experience with PulseAudio - it's on my list of things to look at somewhen, but so far I'm nowhere near it. But since I can't do much while I'm trying to build xorg and periodically fixing typos in the new version numbers, I've googled PulseAudio. As far as I can see, you have to start it, and then the way in which you get applications to use it varies - e.g. alsa apps need you to edit asound.conf (even though for non-pulse most people don't need asound.conf). The only thing I can see in the articles I've read is that esd is replaced by Pulse, everything else seems to need extra work to use PulseAudio. So very likely, once you get something working, you'll have to make changes to the other sound-playing apps. Google also found various comments about "too quiet", but googling in lynx is not my favourite activity. If you have it running, it might be worth your time to look at the arch wiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio - obviously ignore the comments on pacman and repositories, but it seemsto have useful info, e.g. for asound.conf. ĸen -- das eine Mal als Tragödie, das andere Mal als Farce -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
