Thanks for the fast response . I did use a script with #!/bin/bash -e,
and it mirrored the suggested commands. It also ran to completion. I
think the latter case may be so, as there are only 2 packages in the
wget list and unpacked there is no code to install most of the listed
items, only makedepend and the xorg-macros.m4 , the 2 packages in the
wget list.
What I'm trying to do basically to see if the font directories are
found correctly if not using the default /usr prefix . I tried several
months ago , and I had to copy them to directory that the server was
expecting XORG_PREFIX/lib/X11 from where they were actually installed
XORG_PREFIX/share. There was some discusion on the lists months aqo and
I don't if there was a consensus, except maybe to do just what I did.
I may have missed something, however. Late nite I copied them and the
server worked as expected. I also had some problems with an an astronomy
program that uses the Motif-Lesstif libs and I had the same problem
before with Xorg-7. I thougth I'd try again following the directions
precisely before I take a quantum leap backwards.
Thanks again,
