this hint was good!
i already have a symlink for src to point to the downloads directory to
avoid the 2gb unpacking.
ln -sf ../../TAR/libreoffice-src src
this is not as in the book where only some files are copied. my approach
speeds up the build if i have to restart - but fails except for the very
first time when the packages are extracted.
within the build directory i had to add 3 more links:
ln -sf src/libreoffice-help-${VER}/helpcontent2 .
ln -sf src/libreoffice-dictionaries-${VER}/dictionaries .
ln -sf src/libreoffice-translations-${VER}/translations .
now "make install" finishes with success.
next step will be the german and french languages.
thanks for your help
