After many days of truly long and intense work
I managed to fix printing on the new machine.
In both variants: libusb and kernel usblp.
First and foremost again many thanks to (B)LFS authors
for the clear and thorough installation procedures.
Only after I worked like a dog on this project
have I gained _some_ appreciation of the effort
these people put day in and day out.
THANKS
Speaking of print procedures, I have a comment to
make on kernel settings described in CUPS-1.6.1:
<<
Enable support for either UHCI or OHCI, not both:
[*] OHCI HCD support
[*] UHCI HCD (most Intel and VIA) support
>>
If "not both", there should be only one star above.
Note: whichever the case might be, if you go with
modules at least, it can be either _or_ both
(both cases have worked successfully on my system).
Many thanks again to Armin and Fernando.
If anybody would be interested in any gory details
(and things got really gory at times), please give
a holler.
Cheers,
-- Alex
