That's exactly it. (I'm running workstation V8) There was no GUI option to change the network adapter, so I ended up going into the .vmx file and adding a line on the bottom saying that to use vmxnet3 drivers. I rebooted and reconfigured ifconfig.sit0 to ifconfig.eth0 and it's working perfectly fine. Thanks a lot for the help. `ethernet0.virtualDev = "vmxnet3"` -- this was the line that I added, for future reference.
