Hi,
Yes, the book explains that for any major update of toolchain, all the
system should be rebuilt. However, I would like your opinion for those
who use lfs everyday.
My plan is as follows: building lfs on sda1, then blfs on sda2, mounted
in /usr/local. If I update sda1 (lfs), from book 7.2 to 7.3 for
instance, will I have to build again all blfs? No package would sorvive
and everything should be rebuilt? But how do people do when they build
gnome or X, to rebuild everything when they update lfs? I can't believe
everyone on lfs rebuild all his system at each update. Rebuilding some
part, yes; but all the blfs system...
Thanks for your feedbacks.
Regards,
