Probably, you need network-manager-applet-0.9.6.4:
<http://lfsbook.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/gnome/network-manager-applet.html>

If you are not running gnome, only gnome needed requirements are 
(according to the book): libgnome-keyring-3.6.0 and polkit-gnome-0.105.
