Don't let the wifi connection come up at boot time: ONBOOT=no.Try 
connecting manually without NM :

   ip link set wlan0 up
   /usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant -d -B -iwlan0 -Dwext 
-c/yourpathto/wpa_supplicant.conf
   dhclient wlan0

Reason code 15 is "4-way handshake timeout" (IEEE 802-11 standard).It 
probably means a misconfiguration of the acces point or of the laptop.
Are you connecting to a wifi router or a modem ? What are the options in 
wpa_supplicant.conf ?
