UPDATE

I am able to mount
--sata hard disks
--hard-disks with usb interface
--compact-flash devices with sata interface

( as they all register in /dev )

I have FATsupport compiled in the kernel

but traditional usb sticks do not register in dev

Does anyone have an ole tried-and-tesed udev rule I could use for this?
