The LFS svn boot scripts change md5sum daily when the book is rebuilt, but the md5sum in the book changes too. You just need to compare today's download with today's book. If the date has not changed, then the contents have not either. I don't know of any other issues. We have run into the issue of upstream making 'stealth' changes occasionally that change the md5sum, but not recently.
