I disagree. The most that can be said is that I simply don't know.
In the spirit of LFS, why don't you try it, and tell us what it does. ;)
Well I did! It did nothing except compile. :)
Now what do I do with it beyond normal Firefox stuff?
So what do you want to do? :)
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "nothing except compile", but I
don't see any difference between using 'client.mk' on the root of the
source tree, or 'Makefile' on 'firefox-build-dir', for the install
command; the key is the symbol 'INSTALL_SDK'. Thus, the SDK (AKA the
add-ons SDK) is built by default, *unless* you specify 'INSTALL_SDK='
(but not 'INSTALL_SDK=0').
(By 'I don't see', I mean that I have done DESTDIR installs with each,
and compared the lists of files produced)
So the systemd book is technically correct, but slightly misleading.
So, if you want to create add-ons, then you need to leave out the
'INSTALL_SDK=' from the install command line. (And if you want to hack
Firefox itself, you'll probably need the whole source tree, of course)
