Hi, I am building LFS/BLFS on a Toshiba laptop with a wireless network card rtl8723 ae. This card need some firmware to work at all. I got it to work with a 3.x kernel, but after I have upgraded to kernel 4.2.2 it doesn't work.
Output from DMESG: [ 11.537746] r8169 0000:03:00.0 eth0: link down [ 11.539169] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 11.540658] ip (2942) used greatest stack depth: 11344 bytes left [ 81.626374] rtl8723_common:rtl8723_fw_free_to_go():<0-0> Polling FW ready fail!! REG_MCUFWDL:0x0c050006 . [ 81.626378] rtl8723_common:rtl8723_download_fw():<0-0> Firmware is not ready to run! The firmware is the same as the one I used with the old kernel - I got it from the Ubuntu website. That worked fine, but now I get the above fail, and no connection. I have tried to copy the firmware from my host (SuSE 13.2 with the same kernel 4.2.2), this works fine in the host - but not in LFS. I have even tried to compile the kernel with the .config file from the host - no change. Any suggestions ?
