Hallo all, first of all, thank you very much for your comments. They gave me some hints and help I needed.
Some additional comments. With the comments of Pierre and Akhiezer, I recompiled lynx with --with-ssl and my problems with https were solved. I understood the arguments of Bruce about "ftp.x.org/pub" and "xorg.freedesktop.org/archive". However, it seems to me that it is not an DNS problem. I think, it could be more a cert problem, as Akhiezer proposed. Anyway, if I use ftp with x.org/pub, the files are found. If I use http, they are not ( all with lynx ) Thanks also for the explanations to visudo. I now understood the issue. Last but not least: after reading the E-Mails, I realised that my positive comments to the LFS Book could have been misunderstood as a critic to the BLFS Book. This is not at all the case. I also think, that BLFS is an excellent work, Fernando. I just wanted to eventually contribute to some improvements, not knowing if I was the one making errors. Thanks again, Edgar -- Dr.-Ing.
