OK, I removed the engines--it seems XFCE has its own.  Looks like you
installed the gnome set, I did the same and that filled in the missing
ones.  AIUI, not at all well, the engines mostly handle the way a theme
can change things like the sizes, colors, etc. of the widgets, but
something resized the Thunderbird 48x48 icon down to 16x16 for the menu.
