I got it to work without any special stuff two months ago. LFS 7.9-systemd with 
the latest SVN at the time (not sure off the top of my head, but I know it had 
GCC6). 3.2GHz Intel Core i5-2400 with integrated hardware, 4G of RAM. Machine 
is a Dell Optiplex 990 SFF, can share the service tag with you later if you 
want.
