Just for the record:
1. I got the same initial problem (libnssckbi.so linking to the
.so.orig instead of to libp11-kit.so on _one_ build on AMD, so as
anybody would reasonably expect, it is not purely an AMD/intel
issue. I'll just have to remember to check whenever I upgrade
firefox or nss.
2. The https:// breakage on 7.9 is unexplained - I had obviously
built p11-kit fr testing the book (same version as now). In the
end, I discovered than ln sfv /usr/lib/libnssckbi.so{.orig,} fixed
it whereas ln -sfv libnssckbi.so.orig /usr/lib/libnssckbi.so didn't.
That system pre-dates gcc-6, for me it is easiest to not do the
symlink if the gcc version is before gcc-6. Glad I don't have to
attempt to fully maintain old systems ;)
