OK, thanks for your help you two. What I really needed was an elucidation
of this paragraph:-

IMAGEMAGICK_CFLAGS=-I/usr/include/ImageMagick-6
IMAGEMAGICK_LIBS="-lMagickCore-6.Q16HDRI -lMagick++-6.Q16HDRI
-lMagickWand-6.Q16HDRI" : use these when you invoke configure if you have
installed ImageMagick-6.9.7-8 libraries
<http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/systemd/general/imagemagick6.html>
and wish to link to them (the normal unversioned pkgconfig files collide
with ImageMagick-7.0.4-8
<http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/systemd/general/imagemagick.html>
which this package cannot use).

Does it mean (as I think it does) that emacs-25.2 will build against
ImageMagick-6.9.7-8 but not against ImageMagick-7.0.4-8?

Thanks for your help.

Richard
