Intel have now updated their publically-available microcode.  I
assume this includes the CVE fixes which debian had a few days ago
(and which ubuntu might have had much earlier under NDA).

I have no idea which processors are covered by which blob, but the
md5sums for the following (only) have changed:

Also, comments from intel devs on lkml suggest that they like the
ability to use late updates, e.g. to avoid rebooting a server when
there is a new update, so for most intel machines late loading will
probably continue to be supported (with the existing exceptions
where it has to be loaded early).
